Mad Cow
Rally 2006 |
|
The Mad Cow is getting to be one of those events that just seem to get better with age. After the successes of the 11th rally we didn’t think it could get any better, but this year it certainly did.

The Friday, always the quieter of the two nights, got underway with GBH Roadshow doing the honours on the decks, the hall filled up nicely in time for the Friday night band Surface Tension. They did do an early couple of numbers for our guests from Scope, who came along for the early part of the evening.
While waiting for the main set, Assistant Rep Pete provided an impromptu and early start to the silly games, this one was called being stripped naked by three of the girls for a ‘birthday treat’, much to the amusement of Tina ,who nearly didn’t get the incriminating pictures for laughing.
Anyway soon after the band got the hall rocking to some good tunes. As the evening drew to a close with GBH spinning the decks, people drifted out to our BBQ for burger and tinnies. |

Saturday morning arrived and people headed off for breakfast and a warm up in the hall. Then folks did their own thing, be it have a browse around the trade stalls, chewing the fat with old friends or heading off to town to find a charity shop for a fancy dress costume for the nights party.
The day wore on more arrivals and soon time for the silly games.
The musical silly hat went down well and was very keenly contested so keenly in fact we had to consider getting some UN peacekeepers in. Next up was space hopper racing, which came to a slightly earlier end than planned when one had a blow-out. It would seem that someone forgot the bunch of keys in his back pocket.
Soon time for the main party night with a some in fancy dress, the numbers had been swelled with and the hall was full. It started with GBH again with a young band Turmoil, a bunch of young lads playing for experience followed by the headline band Camouflage who went down a storm.
A band to look out for, they have a real sense of fun and don’t take it too serious, and they know how engage the crowd. All was left was the BBQ and stagger back to the tents. |

All in all it was most definitely a wild party, and enjoyed by all. And look forward to the next one whether it will be called the 13th or just the 12a is to be seen.
Next up is the Moo Summer Rally in June. |
