For
once it wasn’t’ a dark and stormy night or morning. It dawned bright and
clear so it was with good heart that I headed off for the BSE MAG pet
food run. This years run was going out into the wilds of Norfolk so I
packed my passport. By the time I had reached the departure point being
British Sugar sports and social club in Bury St. Edmunds there were
already a good few bikes there. So we all wondered about for a bit to
catch up with friends and greet new folk .Our glorious leader Herb
welcomed everyone and
explained the route.
The good folk from the local press turned up and took a few
pictures and then it was off on the run. We were heading for the
Snetterton Dog Trust and it was a route that Herb and I had run though
the week before so that there would be no problems and everything would
run like clockwork. The only fly in the ointment was that I was leading
and for some reason took a wrong turn and ended up taking the 100 or so
people on an extended run eventually arriving about 10 minutes after
some of the others. Hey Ho we got there in one piece.
After
being taunted for a while we all wondered inside have a coffee and see
the dogs waiting to be re-homed. What a hart string pulling lot they
were too, I could have taken them all home and had to frisk the wife for
greyhounds before we left. As we gathered for more photos around the
large pile of food and blankets so kindly donated by the bikers the
Trust were also given £140.71 which was collected at the kennels.
So the BSE MAG MAD COWS would like to thank you who took
part and made it such a great run, donating so generously. We hope you
all got home ok and that we will see you at one of our other Mad Cow
events. |
