Sunday the 22 of april dawned bright and warm a perfect day for a ride out on the bike. So  we loaded up the steeds with some The Road mags and literature and headed off to Tubby T's cafe at Stradishall for the first Bike Safe day that Suffollk Ride Net had put on.
 

Also attending was the local advanced motorcyclists, 2 kindly chaps with blue flashing lights on their bikes, Max Moto (who were doing free bike safety checks) and chap who organises european tours.
 

Tubby T's is a local biker stop off point for Sunday ride outs for many folk and indeed we had all manor turning up from the sports bike riders to one dear chap who had just bought a bike having last ridden 45 years ago.
 

The Suffolk Ride people did a good trade giving away Think Bike stickers etc and the advanced motorcylists were kept buisey with observed rides. Max Motos bike safety checks through up many faults that the owners had no Idea were there and gave people pointers on who to do daily vehicle checks and so forth.
 

We as the local MAG group managed to raise our profile sowing the seed of membership in to peoples heads and getting 2 more signed up. We have however come up against new levels of complete apathy from allot of the motorcyclist who we talked to who just do not give a monkeys about their freedom and rights and it is to these people we will be focusing more effort in the future.

 

All in all thought it was a great day out and the free bacon butty and mug of coffee was the icing on the cake so to speak.
The local MAG group here also sit on the council transport policy meetings which have helped in getting a new bike Park In Bury St Edmunds.
